Darl M. Dodson Membership Chairman
Darl M. Dodson has become our membership
chairman. He grew up in Bucks County, is married and has three
children. Before moving to Greensburg in 1991 he resided in New
Hope Pennsylvania. He graduated from Delaware Valley College with a BS
degree in Biology. He worked for U. S. Steel Corporation
for more than 33 years before retiring. From 1968 until 1991 he
held various management positions through out the steel producing
division at Fairless Works, Fairless Hills, PA.
In 1991 he transferred to the Pittsburgh area
mills. Here he worked as a process leader for the steel producing
and caster divisions at the Edgar Thomson Plant, Braddock,
PA. In 1996 he assumed the duties of plant environmental
engineer at the Irvin Plant, Dravosburg, PA and held this position
until he retired in 2001. As a plant environmental engineer he
was responsible for the plant’s environmental compliance with local,
state, and federal regulations and interfaced with the respective
agencies concerning environmental issues.
In 1995 he returned to school for several
environmental courses. He attended the graduate program at
Duquesne University and in August 2000 graduated with a masters in
environmental science and management.
The Sewickley Creek Watershed Association promotes the
conservation of natural resources, monitors and improves water quality,
and advocates wise land use practices in the Sewickley Creek Watershed.
As such the Association shall use its resources to educate the
citizens of the watershed as to sound environmental practices. In
addition, the Association will seek out and cooperate with government
agencies, interested organizations, businesses and individuals to
implement programs to improve water quality and encourage proper land
use.
